Who Am I?

Vicki wears an Akubra hat.

Hi! I’m Vicki! I’m a writer from beautiful Perth, Western Australia, now living in Canberra.

In 2019 I completed a BA in Professional Writing and Publishing at Curtin University through Open Universities Australia, and have a couple of academic awards under my belt, including Curtin University’s Vice Chancellor’s List, which placed me in the top 1% of students across the university.

I am now a Communications specialist in the Australian Public Service (APS). I engage in all kinds of writing, both fiction and non-fiction. I have a soft spot for Australian literature. Some of my favourite authors are Liane Moriarty, Jackie French, Anna Spargo-Ryan, Tim Winton, and Eliza Henry-Jones. I’m also more than half in love with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. 🙂

I live with my wonderful hubby and have three grown-up kids, an adorable grandson, and two horses. I’m a lover of books and writing (no surprises there), food and cooking (more time for the latter would be nice), coffee (always have time for good coffee!), scuba diving (I wonder if I will get a chance to do that again? Sigh), photography (and when I find my gear again after moving interstate it will be a bonus), Vespas (woe is me, I need a new one), cats (except I’m sadly catless at the moment, my youngest son having inherited my baby), and simply being out in nature.
